Agronomy
So Kris and I went to Jake Fouts photo show called "Agronomy". His images are meant to stimulate the imagination and create interest in a topic that seems to be prevalent in today's "green" society. As our society progresses towards living with our planet's best interests in mind. we will begin to rely on renewable organic matter more than petroleum oil as a building block for creating energy, fuel, and hundreds of raw materials and consumer products. These tiny powerhouses already fuel our minds and bodies. Prehaps one day they will fuel our world. This new "bioeconomy" requires the growth of new types of plant matter for raw materials and chemicals that are used throughout the world. This is one task of an Agronomist.
There were 15 photos all together--5 sets of three. Each set of fruits and veggies either matched the background color or were complimentary with the background--see the blue photo with the orange carrots, green artichoke with the green background.

there is a little snail on the potato, too
ReplyDeleteWow some of those photos are huge. I really dig the choice of "background" for each image, complementary/analogous. awesome. Pretty soon our schools are going to be putting out Agronomist!
ReplyDeleteThese are so inventive and the backgrounds really enhance the objects. And I see the little snail. How cute!
ReplyDeleteSuper cool! I thought they were actual sculptures at first glance and wondered how the produce would stay fresh through the duration of the show. Amazing compositions.
ReplyDeleteInteresting...
ReplyDeleteI also thought they were sculptures at first! I love the intermingling of organic and industrial shapes, very beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHey, are you guys familiar with the Renaissance artist “Archimbaldo” he does portraits that look to be made of fruits and vegetables, but are painted. I’ll post some pics.
